![]() ![]() ![]() This is something that all hotels are skimping on, and I feel bad for the housekeeping staff who are working their butts off trying to do more work with less help. Covid protocols didn't allow us to have our room serviced every day, but they could do a daily trash and towel service if we requested it in advance. We had noisy upstairs neighbors, as family suites often do, and the old building isn't soundproof. The windows are old and not soundproof, and the hotel is in the PDX airport flight path as well as the Air National Guard's new fighter jet. Several things in our room were in need of repair and it also needed a deep cleaning. I don't know how long ago the description was updated on TripAdvisor, but "newly renovated" is not accurate, as well as the Free Parking amenity. That being said, this hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Sully (spelling?) who ran the breakfast room. We love the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suites that Residence Inn offers. The staff is working hard to keep customers satisfied.… My final assessment as compared to other Residence Inn’s - The property management group needs to invest time and capitol in this property and upgrade approach. The exterior pool was well kept, towels available, and the pool was kept relatively clean and chemically balanced. But the attendant for breakfast was super friendly and did his best to stay ahead of the breakfast demand especially on the weekends when the property was full of kids participating in travel team sports events close by. Breakfast was just about the same thing every day. I can recall hearing gunshots nearby one evening around 12:30 am which woke me up and caused me to hit the deck. There is notable security for the neighborhood each evening as there are homeless camps nearby. The front desk staff attended to my reguests in a timely fashion and was very helpful. The housekeeping staff was phenomenal and made the stay tolerable as I was from home for so long. ![]() And after I was feeling better from the infection it started up again just one week before my departure which made air travel very uncomfortable. I did look at the vents and they were dirty. I did however get a sinus infection roughly three weeks in and I suspect the air conditioning was the source of the contaminate which required a visit to urgent care. Although the exterior is need of a facelift my room was comfortable for my needs. I stayed at this property for two months (June - July) for work.
